I hadn’t heard of this book prior to my book club, but its premise and bold cover made it stand out to me as a good summer read. Translated from the Japanese by Allison Markin Powell, this is the latest novel from Hiromi Kawakami, bestselling author of Strange Weather In Tokyo. One of two books I am reading for my book club this month is The Nakano Thrift Shop. ![]()
